On behalf of everyone at Air Ambulance NI, we want to say a HUGE thank you to Dave Walsh for his most generous donation of £1922.50. Throughout the month of March, motorbike enthusiast Dave, challenged himself to raise much need funds for Air Ambulance NI & the Injured Riders Welfare Fund, by taking on a 31 day physical challenge, covering 31 miles everyday, for 31 days in March.
The challenge was broken down into 10/11 miles runs and 20/21 miles on a mountain bike – all while wearing full bike gear, including helmet, gloves and boots. Throughout his challenge, Dave endured sun, gales, snow, rain and hail – Dave we think you’re amazing!
We are so inspired by this very unique fundraising challenge and we are humbled that Dave continued to support of Air Ambulance NI throughout the pandemic. As a service we rely heavily on charitable donations to keep the medical team in the air, delivering critical care to patients who have suffered trauma throughout Northern Ireland- without this type of support, the team simply couldn’t fly. The past year has been especially challenging for fundraising and we’ve seen a dramatic downturn in our income. Every single penny counts.
Speaking about Dave’s support, Grace Williams, Area Fundraising Manager for the charity said; ‘I want to say a huge THANK YOU to Dave and his family for supporting Air Ambulance NI through this incredible challenge. Since July 2017, the medical team have been tasked on over 2,054 occasions – the team simply could not fly without support like this, so thank you very much Dave!’
