Woodside Logistics Group, Ballyclare, is pleased to announce Air Ambulance Northern Ireland as the Group’s Charity Partner for the next two years.

As charity partner, Woodside Logistics Group has provided special livery on a number of trailers to promote the Air Ambulance Northern Ireland charity which can be seen on the roads across the country from today.

Robert Woodside, Managing Director, Woodside Logistics Group, said, “We are delighted to be supporting AANI. Our new charity partner was nominated by our 500+ staff and we are thrilled by the outcome. The air ambulance provides vital assistance in life threatening situations across Northern Ireland and I think most people will have seen it in the sky in recent months. We are very much looking forward to the next two years and will continue to raise awareness for this very worthy cause”.

Kerry Anderson, Head of Fundraising with AANI said: “It is great news that Woodside Logistics Group has decided to support the AANI charity in this way. To ensure the service is sustained, we need to raise £2 million each year so public support is crucial.

“We are encouraging local businesses to get involved by organising a fundraising event for AANI, or making a donation. Individuals can also join our membership club, Club AANI for a weekly donation of just £2. Club AANI members will receive free branded goodies, on-going discounts from high street retail brands, as well as flash merchandise offers, and an invitation to our annual members event. It’s a simple way to donate and we hope those who can join will do so.”

Air Ambulance NI, in partnership with Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS), provides a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) and responds to severely ill or injured patients, seven days a week, twelve hours a day. From its base in Lisburn it can reach any part of Northern Ireland in approximately twenty-five minutes. The service’s primary role is to deliver advanced critical care, benefitting those whose lives are at serious risk following significant injury or trauma by bringing urgent medical assistance directly to the patient at the scene.
