15 local heroes take on Moy Park Belfast City Marathon Team Relay challenge to raise vital funds for Air Ambulance Northern Ireland.
On Sunday 5th May, a dedicated team of 15 staff from CPD Powerline, a local company based in Armagh, laced up their running shoes and hit the streets as part of the of Belfast — all in support of Air Ambulance Northern Ireland (AANI).
Driven by community spirit and a shared commitment to making a difference, the team completed the marathon relay event with energy and determination, raising a significant sum for AANI — a charity that plays a life-saving role in emergency medical response across the country.

Kieran Corr from CPD Powerline said ‘We had an amazing day at the marathon. The atmosphere in Belfast was incredible. We managed to raise £8,000 for Air Ambulance NI. It’s a charity that none of us ever want to avail of but it’s amazing to know that in the event of a life threatening situation, the team will be there for all of us.
A huge thank you goes out to my team, our friends, family and everyone who supported our fundraising – we can’t believe how generous people have been.
We were delighted to be invited down to the base to see how out donations are used and to meet some of their team.’
Grace Williams, Fundraising Manager for Air Ambulance NI said, “We were delighted to welcome Kieran and Aidan from CPD Powerline to the base last week. Raising £8,000 is a truly incredible achievement, and we’re thrilled to hear they had such a fantastic experience at the marathon.
Every day the medical team are needed on average twice per day to help people like Hannah Babe, who needed the air ambulance after she was involved in a Road Traffic Collision in 2020. Thankfully she has made a great recovery and is now a volunteer the charity.
None of us know who might need this service tomorrow. Donations are essential to keep the team flying — saving lives, brains, and limbs across the region. Every single donation genuinely makes a difference.
Our heartfelt thanks go to Kieran, Aidan and the entire team at CPD Powerline for their tremendous support. We are truly inspired by their amazing fundraising efforts.”
The charity Air Ambulance Northern Ireland, in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, provides the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for Northern Ireland. The service brings urgent medical assistance to anywhere in the province, operating seven days a week for 12 hours per day.
The HEMS team attend patients who are seriously ill or injured, bringing emergency pre-hospital care direct to the casualty with the aim of saving lives, brains and limbs. The aircraft can reach anywhere in Northern Ireland in approximately twenty-five minutes.
Since the service was formed in 2017, the team have been tasked on more than 4553 occasions to incidents of serious trauma or medical emergency, which is an average of 2 calls per day.
Its costs almost £7,000 a day to sustain this life saving service here in Northern Ireland, which means the charity needs to raise £2.5million annually.
