Lurgan Golf Club Lady Captain, Ita Hanna has launched her chosen charity partnership this year in memory of young Callum Morrow who sadly died on Saturday 21st July 2018 in a road traffic accident. Ita has chosen to support local charity, Air Ambulance NI during her tenure as Lady Captain. Ita explained why she had chosen to support this special charity; “The reason I have chosen to support Air Ambulance NI is in memory of young Callum Morrow. Unfortunately, Callum lost his life in a road traffic accident in July 2018 and Air Ambulance NI were in attendance that day. The Morrow family have been friends and neighbours of mine for all my life and I wanted to do something in memory of their beloved family member.”
It has been a difficult year to fundraise for charity given the closure of the golf club and cancellation of many events but Ita hopes that the club members and community will support her by donating in the clubhouse or in the club shop, “I have put collection cans out across the Club if anyone would like to donate any funds and look forward to Lady Captain’s Day on Saturday 31st July when I really hope people will dig deep and support our air ambulance.”
