With a limit of 550 runners, this exclusive event offers participants the rare chance to run on a live runway at night, offering a truly memorable experience. The evening promises not only the excitement of a unique venue but also the opportunity to support Air Ambulance NI, a vital service that provides emergency medical care across Northern Ireland. The service is needed on average twice per day and requires fundraising of almost £7,000.
Katrina Hughes, Area Fundraising Manager at Air Ambulance NI said, “We are thrilled to host the 5K Runway Run at City of Derry Airport. This event is an incredible opportunity to run in an exclusive venue, support a life-saving charity, and be part of an unforgettable night. We encourage everyone to register early, as spaces are limited! All participants who raise £100 will be entered into a prize draw and we will support everyone in their fundraising journey including an invite to the operational airbase.”
Registration is now open https://tinyurl.com/2kr7pd48 for £25 per person, which includes a branded Air Ambulance tech top, race bib, and bespoke medal.
Steve Frazer, Managing Director from City of Derry Airport said, “It’s wonderful to be able to welcome our community to run the runway and we hope runners of all abilities take on this unique challenge for Air Ambulance NI.”
All funds raised will go directly to supporting Air Ambulance NI’s life-saving missions. Every pound raised will help ensure that the service continues to provide critical emergency care when and where it’s needed most.
