Cathy Curran, 38 and from Holywood has dedicated 940 hours making 470 unique handmade Christmas decorations for Air Ambulance Northern Ireland, raising a phenomenal £2,030.

Cathy said, “I started making Christmas decorations as a hobby 3 years ago.  Some people started asking me if they could buy some and so I thought I would do it for charity.  I love watching about the air ambulance services on TV and the difference it can make for people in a serious accident, so decided that Air Ambualnce NI was the perfect cause.  I take pride in all of my decorations, cutting each one from quality felt, hand stitching, stuffing and adding a ribbon ready for display.  This year I made elves, reindeer, ginger bread men, and Santa’s to name a few.  It was lovely to meet the medical team at the air ambulance charity who thanked me for helping to ensure the service is there for the next patient.”

Grace Williams, Area Fundraising Manager said,  “Cathy’s efforts are truly incredible, so many hours dedicated to creating stunning gifts and raising crucial funds.  Thank you Cathy for all of your work and also to everyone who bought the decorations, we are very grateful.”
