Dungannon agricultural supplies business Agri Barn are holding their first annual tractor run on Sunday 4th July in aid of their chosen charity, Air Ambulance Northern Ireland.
Organiser Adrian McCann, owner of Agri Barn, chose Air Ambulance NI as the charity for the event after he saw first-hand the helicopter emergency medical service land beside his premises on the Bush Road in July 2019 following a motorcycle accident. “It was a very bad accident and to see the team land right beside where it happened in such a short space of time was a huge eye-opener to me. Coming from a farming background too, I am very aware of the dangers that farmers face daily either working with animals or machinery with little or no help in remote locations. I hope I will never need the Air Ambulance but it’s a great service to have.”
Damien McAnespie, Area Fundraising Manager for Air Ambulance NI, said, “I want to thank Adrian and Agri Barn for supporting our service. Since we first launched in July 2017, our service has been tasked to 2,114 incidents, over 200 of those taskings have been to the Mid-Ulster Council area. With a fundraising need of £5,500 per day, we appreciate this support and would ask for local farmers and businesses around Dungannon and Coalisland to support the tractor run. By supporting this event, you really are keeping our team flying and saving lives, brains and limbs.”
The Agri Barn tractor run will take place from the premises on 150 Bush Road, Dungannon at 1pm on Sunday 4th July. The convoy of tractors will then travel through Dungannon, Moy, Clonoe, Coalisland and return to Agri Barn where food will be provided by ‘The Flamin Outback’ and depending on Covid restrictions, there will be live music from ‘The Capri’s’. Tickets are £20 per tractor and can be purchased via ‘Agri Barn’ Facebook or Instagram page or payment can be taken on the day of the event.
