AANI and NIAS wish to advise that at 14.00 today we responded to an emergency call out in Dungiven. Having stood the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service down at 19.00 on the 3rd of April to release key critical care staff to assist in the health service response to Covid 19, we were fortunate today to have members of the HEMS team available to respond to this emergency call out.

NIAS and the wider Health and Social Care system are working to balance staff resource between many competing demands, should the HEMS team be available we will continue to respond to incidents that require urgent medical assistance. Our helicopter, maintenance and pilot staff are operationally ready to be deployed, if needed, during this current crisis.
