Nan Rice’s Newry is organising their first-ever tractor run on Sunday 12 December 2021 in aid of chosen charity, Air Ambulance Northern Ireland.
Organiser Ross McArdle, chose Air Ambulance NI as the charity for the event as he realises how vital a service it is for the whole community, and in particular farmers. “Coming from a farming background, I am very aware of the dangers that farmers face daily either working with animals or machinery with little or no help in remote locations. I hope I will never need the Air Ambulance but it’s a great service to have.”
Colleen Milligan, Area Fundraising Manager for Air Ambulance NI, said, “I want to thank Ross, Nan Rice’s and SRC for supporting the service. Since we first launched in July 2017, the medical team have been tasked to 2,547 incidents, 385 of those taskings have been to the Newry, Mourne and Down Council area. With a fundraising need of £5,500 per day, we appreciate this support and would ask for local farmers and businesses around Newry to support the tractor run. By supporting this event, you really are keeping our team flying and saving lives, brains and limbs.”
Registering tractors should arrive at 5.00pm on Sunday 12 December 2021 to Southern Regional College Car Park. Tractors and vintage cars are welcome and £20 per vehicle is requested. The run will leave at 6.00pm and is expected to take about one hour with food served in Nan Rices afterwards. For more information call into Nan Rices in Newry.
