Air Ambulance Northern Ireland is daring thrill-seekers, sports teams, and courageous individuals to step up for its first-ever abseil challenge at Dublin’s iconic Croke Park on Saturday, 29 November.
More than forty fearless participants will descend an incredible 150 feet in front of the Hogan Stand at Europe’s third-largest stadium — all to raise vital funds for the lifesaving work of Air Ambulance NI.
“We are delighted to launch this new fundraising event alongside Croke Park and event company Adventure.ie for the end of 2025. Forget the Pittsburgh Steelers, Oasis or your favourite county team – on the 29th November, our fundraisers will be the real stars of Croke Park,” said Damien McAnespie, Fundraising Manager at Air Ambulance NI.
“Whether you are flying solo, part of a sports club, or representing your business, we’d love you to join us. With an annual fundraising need of £3 million, public support is vital to keep our helicopter emergency medical service in the air — reaching patients when and where it matters most across the region.”

The registration cost for the Croke Park abseil is £50 each, with participants asked to raise a minimum of £350 in sponsorship in support of Air Ambulance NI Charity. The event is open to those agedover 18 years old and everyone must have a good level of fitness and mobility to take part.
