Air Ambulance Northern Ireland is delighted to recognise the tremendous fundraising efforts of Eurospar Lurgan, whose recent collection raised an impressive £475 in support of the charity’s lifesaving service.
The collection took place on 24th May 2025, with generous contributions from local shoppers and community members throughout the day. The funds raised will go directly towards supporting the critical work of Air Ambulance NI, which provides vital pre-hospital emergency care across Northern Ireland.
Jayne from Eurospar Lurgan commented,
Being a community-focused store, it’s so important to us to support local charities, and it was great to welcome Air Ambulance to the store and support them through their in-store bucket collection. We wish to extend a huge thank you to our generous shoppers for their donations.”
Air Ambulance NI works in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service to provide the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS). The service operates 365 days a year, bringing emergency medical doctors and paramedics to trauma patients wherever they are. On average, the HEMS team is tasked twice a day, helping to save lives, brains, and limbs.
Bebhionn Hardy, Community Fundraising Coordinator at Air Ambulance NI, expressed sincere gratitude:
“We are incredibly thankful to the team at Eurospar Lurgan and to all the generous members of the community who contributed. Every single pound makes a difference. It costs around £8,200 per day to run the service, so community fundraising like this is absolutely essential in keeping our helicopter flying and saving lives.”
Air Ambulance NI receives no direct government funding and relies heavily on public donations. The charity must raise 3 million each year to keep the service operational.
Eurospar Lurgan’s commitment to supporting local causes is deeply valued, and this latest initiative reflects the store’s strong community spirit.
