Speaking after the event, Sandra Lurring said: “We are incredibly proud to continue Lawrence’s legacy through this annual shoot. The support from our members, visiting shooters, and the wider community has been phenomenal. We’re delighted that the funds raised will support Air Ambulance NI in delivering its vital, life-saving service.”
The charity Air Ambulance NI, in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, provides the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service for Northern Ireland. The service brings urgent medical assistance to anywhere in the province, operating seven days a week for 12 hours per day. The HEMS team attend patients who are seriously ill or injured, bringing emergency pre-hospital care direct to the casualty with the aim of saving lives, brains and limbs. The aircraft can reach anywhere in Northern Ireland in approximately twenty-five minutes.

“We are so grateful to Banbridge Sporting Gun Club for their outstanding support and for raising an incredible £3,105 in memory of Lawrence. Every single pound helps us keep the helicopter flying and our medical team ready to respond. On behalf of the team, thank you for helping us deliver critical pre-hospital care to patients who need it most across Northern Ireland.”
On average the medical team are called upon twice every day, whether that is as a result of a serious road traffic collision, farm or workplace accident, sport and leisure incident or a serious medical emergency.
