Air Ambulance NI is calling on thrill-seekers across Northern Ireland to step outside their comfort zone and take on one of four exhilarating abseil challenges this autumn.
Descend the dramatic sea cliffs of Fairhead, scale down Belfast’s iconic Europa Hotel, or a new location for Belfast city centre, the Invest NI building. By choosing one of these challenges, participants can make every metre count for local people by raising vital funds which will help save lives, brains and limbs.
The Fairhead Abseil, takes place on Saturday 19th September at the spectacular Fairhead cliffs near Ballycastle. Abseilers will experience the adrenaline rush of descending a 90ft sea cliff, surrounded by breathtaking coastal scenery.
Just two weeks later, on Sunday 4 October, supporters can take on the Europa Abseil, descending an incredible 120ft down the world-famous Europa Hotel in the heart of Belfast, an unforgettable experience with stunning city views. Registration for the Fairhead and Belfast abseils each cost £40.
On Thursday 14th November a new abseil location in Belfast City Centre will welcome it’s first abseilers for a Twilight abseil. Descend the Invest NI building on Bedford Street, recently made famous as the home of AC12 in the BBC police drama “Line of Duty”.
Stepping into December, don your favourite festive apparel for the Invest NI Christmas abseil on Saturday 5th. See the festive lights across Belfast from a completely new perspective while you test your bravery for the local charity. Registration for the Twilight and Christmas abseils at Invest NI each cost £45.
All abseil participants are kindly asked to raise a minimum of £150 in sponsorship to support Air Ambulance NI in the delivery of critical pre-hospital care directly to patients in Northern Ireland experiencing some of the most serious medical emergencies.

“Every participant who signs up and fundraises is helping ensure the medical team can continue responding to those who need them most. It costs £8,200 every day to sustain the service, and events like these play a vital role in helping us continue saving lives, brains and limbs.”
No previous abseiling experience is required, with all equipment, safety briefings and expert instruction provided on the day.
The Fairhead Abseil and Invest NI Abseils are open to participants aged 12 and over, while the Europa Abseil is open to those aged 14 and over. Places are limited, so early registration is encouraged.
