Become a Volunteer
Our volunteers are the heartbeat of our charity. Without their support, we couldn’t be there for people when they need us. We appreciate the time and energy our fantastic volunteers pour into their efforts to and in return, we hope we have created a volunteering experience that refills their cup.
There is no shortage of opportunities when you become a volunteer, from learning new skills and forging lifelong friendships to making a true difference in people’s lives. Whether you’re joining us to help raise funds, spread the word in your community, or help at events, your participation goes towards supporting and saving lives of people across Northern Ireland.
Event Support Volunteers
There are many opportunities for event support volunteers, including helping at an event, collecting at a street collection or assisting at a bag pack, to name a few.
Collection Box coordinators
Our collection box coordinators are vital, working with their local community, representing Air Ambulance NI, and raising life-saving funds for the charity.
Community Ambassadors
Community ambassadors are the local face of Air Ambulance NI. From representing the charity at group talks to attending cheque presentations, the ambassadors represent Air Ambulance NI in their community.
Investing in Volunteers Accreditation
Air Ambulance Northern Ireland is proud to have been re-awarded the prestigious Investing in Volunteers (IiV) accreditation in December 2024. The IiV accreditation is the UK quality standard for good practice in volunteer management. It acts as a seal of approval for an organisation’s ability to provide an outstanding volunteer experience by thoroughly assessing the quality of volunteer management and involvement.
I chose to volunteer with Air Ambulance NI as I experienced first-hand their amazing medical assistance. I felt that through volunteering for them, I could express my gratitude. It is so fulfilling to be part of such a wonderful community who share an equal passion to support the charity.
