What We Do
In partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS), we provide the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for the region. The service operates 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year round.

The HEMS crew always includes a pilot, doctor, and paramedic on hand to deliver the very best pre-hospital critical care, both at the scene and whilst transferring the patient to the most appropriate hospital for their specific injuries. This ensures every patient is stabilised as quickly as possible, greatly reducing the level of permanent damage, and, where possible, saving lives.

What many people don’t realise is that the Air Ambulance is funded by the generosity of the public. We aspire to raise £8,200 per day in fundraising, which is equivalent to £3 million annually, to keep this lifesaving service running and operational.

Air Ambulance NI is fortunate to count on tremendous public support and goodwill, and we will never take this for granted. It’s not only the medical crew who save lives, but the people who support our service.

Where do your donations go? They go everywhere.
We cover 100% of Northern Ireland, attending on average 2 incidents per day. Your donations and support make this possible.
