NIAS Introduce new CPR device
New CPR Device for the HEMS team
The device was supplied by our partners at the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.
At the air ambulance base, the HEMS train everyday on manikins simulating various clinical scenarios they encounter when tasked to ensure the team always provide the gold standard of care to every patient.
Recently the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) introduced a new thorax compression device called Corplus CPR which the HEMS team are using in the photo below. When appropriate, the medical team will use this device to provide consistent chest compressions at the perfect rate and depth. This device will often be used to treat patients who are in cardiac arrest in difficult locations or even onboard the Air Ambulance.
